Some families pass down watches. Mine passed down three-putts.

My dad was known as “3-Putt Sam” at our local course — part joke, part truth. The name stuck, and when I picked up the game, it got passed to me too… along with a handful of bright neon plastic golf ball markers that have served me well for 30 years (and yes, the photo is proof, pulled straight from my golf bag).

And let me tell you — there’s nothing quite like marking a putt with a fluorescent green disc while your friends quietly judge, holding their ordinary coin, their St. Andrews souvenir, or worse — the poker chip.

So I set out to find something better. I looked everywhere — from pro shops across the horizon, to mega golf malls in Thailand, to superstores in Japan. But nothing hit. It was all the same: bland, forgettable, not me.

That’s when CHIP PUTTY was born.

CHIP PUTTY is a Hong Kong golf accessories brand for players who love the game and the culture that surrounds it. We create golf ball markers and magnetic hat clips that blend design, humour, and a touch of luck — helping you make your mark on the green.
